Coming Through
I was reading Psalm 24 the other day in a different translation than I normally read. In verse 7 it says "Welcome the King of Glory for He is about to come THROUGH you." I have really been pondering this since then. I was so hopeful when I read this verse. The King of Glory is about to come through me!!! He is the One who performs miracles. He is the One who changes hearts. He is the One who is enough! One of the things we often say at the PARC is that we are not the answer. These problems are so big and we are not enough.
On the way to work a few mornings ago I called a friend. I needed some encouragement and direction. I admit that I was feeling a tad bit overwhelmed and discouraged. She told me that the thing that keeps her on track is to remember what Jesus says. He tells us that we are to love God and love people. That is it!! Love God. Love people. So she has been focusing her time on learning more about what loving God looks like and how His love helps us to love people. I like that.
So these are the things that I am pondering. Welcome the King of Glory. He is about to come through me. And when He comes through me there is love. Scripture tells us that God is love. Love covers a multitude of sins. It also says that love conquers all. So if the the King of Glory is about to come though me and He is love, then that makes me powerful indeed. It is true. I am not enough. I am not the answer. But the greatest news is that the One who is enough, the One who is the answer is coming through me. So when I show up every day I trust and believe that God is coming through me. That is enough. That is where I will stand.
