It's Good to Remember

When Robert and I started the PARC 7 years ago we opened our bank account with $150.00. That was all we had. We were washing windows to try to make ends meet. (We weren't very good, but people were gracious to let us do them,) When we bought this building we had $1200.00 in our account. We had to pay $1,000.00 in earnest money. That was one of the scariest days of our journey and we felt so very stupid. But we had made a promise that if God gave us enough to do the next step that we would always take it. So we wrote the check.

So here we are. The PARC is indeed a miracle. Every month for the first several years our bank account would show that we weren't going to make it. Every, single month we received a 'miracle' check. Miracles are stressful, but to this day the PARC has NEVER been in the red!! I am often reminded of God's blessings and miracles over the PARC, but sometimes it just smacks me in the face!!!

We received a notice in January that the parking lot we had been given permission to use these past 7 years would no longer be available. We had the option to rent it for 5 years or to buy it. As our board looked at our options and the things we believe the Lord has spoken about the future of the PARC, we believed that we should buy the parking lot.

In our last board meeting it was all I could do to not just sit there with my mouth hanging open in awe. The next part of our discussion was that we should just pay for it. One of our directors said, "We have the money. Let's just pay for it!" What???? Are you serious??? Yes, we are able to say that. THEN - as we discussed how much we needed to be sure to have in our operating account as we made this purchase, I was again reminded of where we began. We are buying a parking lot and we still have money in our operating account!!!!

I will readily admit that by many standards we are not talking about a lot of money, but in our lives this is truly miraculous. We just bought a parking lot!! Yesterday when I was told that we needed to write a $1,000 check for the earnest money, I just did it!! I just wrote that check and this time we have more than $1200.00 in our account.

I love the PARC and I am indeed grateful. it is good to remember how far we have come and all God has done to get us here. He has done and will do over and above what we could ever ask or imagine.
