We Build Together
I hope that you don't grow weary of hearing of my "construction journey". I will admit that these past months have been full of emotional ups and downs. I will tell you that I have learned so much. I have learned about myself, about times when I didn't have as much faith as I thought, or when I really didn't fully trust God to be good. During this time, my faith has also grown so much deeper causing me to cling more and more to God, the Bible and prayer. I don't mean to sound so dramatic, but I have found in my passion for the PARC and for my faith these things have been battles, they have run deep.
Throughout this process, I have been amazed at what God has done and is doing on our behalf. It is miraculous, amazing and surreal. On the other side, I have also felt that we are having to make many concessions, give up some things we were expecting, so to speak. I've tried hard to accept this and to have a good attitude. It's just stuff, right? We can always get it later, maybe.
BUT, then you guys showed up. Like you always do. People started asking what we need, what they can do. A light began to shine in my spirit. I was so encouraged and began to think that we might really be able to pull this off. I am reminded of when God told Moses to build the tabernacle. All Moses did was tell the people what was needed and to bring the 'stuff'. And the people began to bring their offerings. "Whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the Lord's contribution. And they came, everyone whose heart stirred him, and everyone whose spirit moved him, and brought the Lord's contribution."(Ex. 35:5, 36:21) And then the most amazing thing happened. Moses had to tell the people that there was enough and to quit bringing things. They had more than enough!!
I love this story. It is such an expression of God's way and how He works to accomplish what is in His heart. It is all about community. He never intends for us to do this alone. It is about all of us coming together to do what we can to 'build'. To me this is strongest testament to the story of the PARC. I have freely admitted that I don't know what I am doing. We started this whole thing with $150.00 and now look where we are! It is because of YOU!
We have put together a list as best we can of what we will be needing to move in. We will be adding more to it as we are able to gather the information. But, thank you. Thank you for asking. Thank you for giving. Thank you for being the community that is building this place where the lives of so many are changed.
