Working Hard to Relax
We had a board meeting this week. I am thankful for our board, for their integrity and the faith in which we make decisions. And, there were some decisions that needed to be made. the PARC is at a crucial point and we are tenacious and adamant about moving in the direction that God is moving. We just want to join Him in what He is already doing, so we do our best to hear Him, believe Him and move that way.
Most of the meeting was spent on discussing our expansion. I had pictures to show them how full the PARC has become and how crowded we are. We even rearranged the room to try to accomodate more people. It is an understatement to say that I am a little stressed and anxious about getting the money we need to purchase the property behind us.
THEN, one of our board members who has been with us from the beginning said, "It's okay. Whatever happens these are good problems we are having. To have the problem of too many people and being so full is what we want. What if we were sitting here discussing if we need to close because no one was coming." Bingo! He was exactly right.
Too often we spend our energy and worries on the solution, or what we think is the solution. We see the circumstances and we understand the problem and we believe we know the solution. So, we become worried and stressed because OUR solution is not coming when we think it should, and in the form that we had established in our minds. When what we really should be doing is coming before God with a heart of gratitude. Giving Him praise and glory.
Many of us have heard the saying that wherever you are, just BE there. Jesus told us not to worry about tomorrow because today has enough worries of its own. So, this is my goal. To celebrate. God has done amazing and wonderful things at the PARC; MIRACULOUS things!! My friend told me that she is going to make a t-shirt that says, "I am working hard to relax." I want one of those. Yes, we need more space. Yes, we need to expand the PARC. That is wonderful news and I am choosing to be here and say 'thank you' . I am choosing to work hard to relax. They are coming and they are being changed. Thank YOU for being a part and making it possible for the PARC to be overflowing with people who are being redeemed.
