Moving Forward
We had our annual Board Retreat this past Saturday. Each year we take an extended time to discuss where we have been, where we are and where we are going. I left that meeting feeling so encouraged. I am grateful for our Board of Directors and the way they lead . These are strong men and women who are gifted and passionate. They are busy, yet each one understands and believes in the PARC. Our meetings most often have 100% attendance. There is unity and a divine mission and call.
As we talked about the upheaval and disruptions of these past two years, our board reiterated the importance of the PARC. Those who are homeless have perhaps experienced this uncertainty to an even greater degree than some of us. Other agencies in town are experiencing tumult and chaos. It is in the middle of all of this that we again realize the importance of the PARC. Throughout this whole "unprecedented time" the PARC has remained stable and consistent. We have not strayed from our core principles and we have been steady. More than ever our city needs this stability, this anchor and our board remains more committed to that than ever before.
In light of this we also become more committed to getting the expansion built onto our property. It is time and we are more ready than ever before to move forward. It is indeed an exciting time to be a part of the PARC and what God is doing here. He has put extraordinary men and women in place to lead us, and that gives me such tremendous confidence in the future that lies before us.
