Exciting Things Ahead!

I am so very excited about our fundraising event that is coming up this Saturday for many reasons. There have been many amazing things happening at the PARC leading up to this night. I would like to tell you just a few of the things that God has done.

I wanted to be sure that we had our event in downtown Amarillo. It is our heart that we be a compliment and a beautiful addition to our community. We couldn't find a venue that would suit our needs until we became aware of the rooftop of the parking garage. It is right in the middle of downtown. It is fantastic!! After we had worked out the rental agreements, I asked if the fee for parking for our guests could be waived that evening. I was told that I would have to make a proposal. I am making a long story very short, but after a very long meeting when they made the decision to RAISE the fee for parking starting October 1st, I got to speak. I told them about the PARC and what we do, and humbly asked them to waive the fee for parking for our guests that night. They not only voted to waive the parking fee, but also voted to waive the entire fee!!! We are getting our whole venue free of charge!!

We have also had to go back to the drawing board with our building plans. After we started going to the city for permits, etc it became apparent that we needed to try to see things from a different angle. While we waited for this new plan the PARC bought the parking lot right next to us. It is 2 lots!!! That's crazy. I'm not sure why God gave us a parking lot, but He did. He is giving us the territory!

Then the new plans that the architects designed came in and they are AMAZING!! Oh my!! This building will be so beautiful and inviting, and will serve as a beacon and a signpost for all those who come. It reflects the heart of the PARC in ways I could not have imagined. All of the money we raise on Saturday will go towards getting this built.

ANOTHER thing that has just happened is that we got the new numbers for the building. With all of the things going on in our world, the price almost doubled! It feels impossible. Just a few weeks ago a man came in very moved by a newsletter I had written about how some people view those that are homeless. He was very emotional and said that he wanted to write us a check. He wrote us a check for $50.000,00. We couldn't believe it. We decided to see if we could match that amount at our fundraiser and set a goal to raise $50,000.00 that night. Well, the next week someone came in to give us another gift. Guess what? It was $50,000.00!! Just like that, God matched it. He gave us 2 miracle checks.

So, do you see why I am excited? God is up to some really amazing things on behalf of the PARC. None of these things are an accident. The timing is not coincidental. God has big plans for the PARC, and I believe that He is going to use this event as a springboard for what is to come. Trust me, you don't want to miss it!! It is going to be so fun. We have a live band, good food, drinks, glass blowing, an artist drawing portraits and a live auction. The weather is going to be beautiful.
