We are Doing a Great Work
Anyone who has known me for very long knows that I am a visionary and I am passionate. Usually what comes with that is impatience. I am not proud to admit that is true of myself. We are in the midst of an Expansion Project for the PARC. God has moved many mountains to give us what we need to expand and prepare for those He will bring. I am so excited.
I knew when we started this project that we would run into many obstacles, because I have heard that is what comes with any building project. I also was keenly aware that whenever God's people took territory throughout scripture that even though God had given them the land, there were still many enemies they had to fight. They had to kill them. So, when we started I was ready!! I was going to be patient and trust God through the whole thing!! I was! I had learned a lot over the years and I could do it! Yeah, right!
So, yes there are some obstacles. Yes, we have had some 'attacks'. Yes, I am discouraged. That frustrates me with myself, but it is the truth. I expected God to 'bring water from a rock' and He hasn't yet. The scripture that keeps coming to my mind is Nehemiah 6:3. When the enemies begin to taunt Nehemiah while he is rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem, he simply states, "I am doing a great work and I cannot come down." He isn't going to let the enemies distract him from what he is supposed to accomplish. BUT, he tells all the Israelites to arm themselves. They were to work with "one hand on construction and with the other holding a weapon".
We had a staff meeting yesterday and talked through some of these things. At one point it got a little emotional because Terry said, "This place is worth fighting for. It is too important. I love what we do, and it is worth fighting for." I agree. We are doing a great work and we can't come down, but we will work with weapons at our side. Will you join us? Will you help us build a place that God has prepared and fight with us as we build? We have already had some groups offer to come and pray for us, for the PARC. Many of you are encouraging and speaking words of truth. I don't know what weapon or tool that God has given you with which to fight or build, but I ask you to join us. Help us complete this great work. "So the wall was finished, and it happened when all our enemies heard of it that they were very disheartened in their own eyes, for they perceived that this work was done by our God!" Neh. 6:15-16 Amen and amen!
