Step by Step

One of our members made the tough decision to go into a live-in recovery program. As he was leaving he wrote us a letter. I would like you to see it.

"I am beyond grateful for you and the PARC. This place helped save me. I am sad to be leaving but it won't be for good and not forever. I will be back. The PARC is a part of me for life. I will stay in touch and will write, and hopefully after my 30 day blackout I can come down or be able to see ya'll. I am forever grateful for the love and prayers. I will keep you all in my prayers, and I want you to know that this place helped save me in so many ways. Thank you so much. Thanks for everything"

When Richard came to the PARC he had just gotten out of prison. He was working so hard to stay sober and move forward. He came every day. Through that time he overcame so many obstacles. He fought so hard! One afternoon after he left the PARC he was approached to purchase drugs, so he intentionally took a different path to the shelter each evening. He got a full-time job. He worked for 2 weeks and then got a parasite! After being in the hospital for 9 days he lost his job. Through it all he kept coming to the PARC.

At the PARC we take the journey with them. Day after day. We applaud them and encourage them. We get to make really good friends. I am amazed when I see the determination to fight so hard and not give up, no matter what. I am inspired. The PARC makes a powerful impact on those who come. It makes a powerful impact on ME! I am so very grateful to be here. Thank you.
