the PARC has seen an incredible 67.7% success rate among our members. Members are those who come to the PARC regularly and participate in programming, such as relationship building, productive activities, and classes. This success is measured by the members who find housing, get a job, reconcile with family, enter a treatment program, go to school, etc. Building a relationship with each person who walks through our doors is a crucial part of the success we see. Helping those experiencing homelessness is not a one-size-fits-all fix. Instead, helping people find their identity and purpose gives them the motivation to move on to their unique next.
Where We Are
With our current space, we are only able to serve a limited number of people; roughly 20.4% of the homeless population in Amarillo. Right now, our building is currently 2,400 sq. ft. and we are at max capacity. the PARC currently serves 158 unique homeless individuals a month, or an average of 45 people a day. This time last year we served closer to 26 people a day, so the need is prevalent.
Where we’re going
We have officially purchased the lot located behind the PARC. We will rebuild and expand our space by 9,252 sq. ft. This will help us impact 3x the amount of people the PARC currently holds. Our goal to reach at least 474 individuals a month, which is closer to 61.2% of the homeless population. Our main goal is to break the cycle of homelessness for every individual.
